Thank you for your interest in applying for a Friends of Parks and Recreation (FOPAR) Scholarship. Awards are based on a number of factors, including number of applicants, program costs, financial need and other variables.

The Fall 2024 scholarship application period opens on July 22, 2024. The deadline for completed applications is August 7, 2024 by 11:59PM.

• FILL OUT APPLICATION COMPLETELY – incomplete applications may be disqualified.
• City Residence Status - Home address verification is required with every application. Please attach a copy of a current driver's license or utility bill.
• MediCal recipients should include a copy of each child's benefit card.

Try our NEW online application, and let us know what you think! Supporting documents (i.e. home address and MediCal verification) can be emailed to the Parks & Recreation Administrative Office at parksandrec@santacruzca.gov or delivered to 323 Church St., Santa Cruz, CA 95060.

PDF or paper applications will still be accepted - they may also be emailed or delivered to the office along with supporting documentation.

• You'll be notified by email if you're approved for a scholarship.
• A scholarship credit will be applied to your family member's WebTrac account.
• You're responsible for creating your WebTrac account prior to submitting your application.
• Fall 2024 Registration will begin on August 12.
• All registration is first-come, first-served.
• If you receive a scholarship, you can request that the credit be used for an activity for which you have already registered OR  you can register for an offering later in the term.

Fall scholarship credit must be used by December 1, 2024. The remaining scholarship balance will be removed from your account and the funds returned to Friends of Parks & Recreation for future scholarships.
