The Surf City AIDS Ride is a longtime community tradition for our organization and the biggest fundraiser of the year for Santa Cruz AIDS Project (SCAP). The ride is for serious athletes as well as bike riders who just want to have fun cycling the beautiful scenic roads of the Central Coast while supporting a great cause. This year, there are four new routes, blending the best of the redwoods and the coast. We hope you will join!

30 Mile Route

A scenic coastal tour along West Cliff with a rest stop for food and beverage at approximately mile 5 and then up Highway 1 to Davenport and back returning along West Cliff to the finish.

45 Mile Bike Route

For those Surf City AIDS Ride participants looking for a little flatter route, we have this great 45 mile loop that heads north up HWY 1, does the iconic “Swanton Road” then back down the coast. You get a great coast ride with the beautiful farms and redwoods along Swanton Road. As a bonus you hit the Pie Stop at about mile 23.

Metric Century – 100km Route

Riders will head into the hills to start cruising up into Scotts Valley and through the quiet valley along Bean Creek. Then it is down into the San Lorenzo Valley a water and Gatorade stop along HWY 9 and then a beautiful decent along the lower and quieter section of HWY 9 from Felton into Santa Cruz. A short skip through the Westside of Santa Cruz with a food and beverage stop at about mile 25 and then its out along beautiful HWY 1 and onto the unique Swanton Road. You will have a second food and beverage stop at mile 40 then up the Swanton Road climb, and back into Santa Cruz along the coast.
