This presentation examines distracted driving and walking as well as solutions to address such behavior.

Distracted driving and walking has become increasingly serious concerns with the growing popularity of cell phones and smart phones.

Studies have shown that drivers require more reaction time and pedestrians become less attentive to their surroundings when distracted by cell phones.

The use of cell phones for calling and texting has received the most attention from researchers, practitioners and policy makers in the context of both distracted driving and walking.
