Join us on Saturday, July 21 at 1pm at Delaveaga Park for a FREE Slowpitch Softball Homerun Derby! There will be both a Men's Division and a Women's Division. You can sign up via email or at the event! First place in each division will win a $50 gift certificate to Play it Again Sports. Second place in each division will win a $25 gift certificate to Santa Cruz Parks & Recreation which you can use to enroll in many of our activities or for rentals!

Rules for the Homerun Derby:

Round 1
Each player will get 10 swings. ASA stamped bats only. You do not have to swing at every pitch. You may bring your own pitcher or use a provided pitcher. Judges will determine fair or foul. Judges will record the official number of homeruns and will not be contestable. The top 5 homerun totals and all players tied for 5th place will move on to round 2.

Round 2
All homerun totals reset to zero each round. Competition will be head to head. Players will be seeded. The lower seed will bat first. Players get 5 swings. Once the higher seed surpasses the lower seed the round will end. If players are tied at the end of the round the will have a sudden death 1 swing each until the tie is broken. Rounds will continue in this way until we have a winner!
