The City of Santa Cruz will host an open house on the proposed downtown library/mixed-use project on Monday, August 6, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the current downtown branch. The open house is free of charge and open to the public.
Attendees of the open house can expect to see and learn about what features can be included in a new, modern library, as well as limitations imposed by the current site. In addition to self-led tours of the downtown branch, information stations will set-up throughout the library including teen and children’s areas; environmental design, lighting and security; 21rst century computing; genealogy; meeting space and infrastructure. Information on City alternative transportation programs, parking, and Friends of Santa Cruz Libraries will also be available.
