Bay Street Reservoir Replacement Project-Neighborhood Meeting

In Fall 2007 the City of Santa Cruz Water Department demolished the Bay Street Reservoir originally constructed in 1924, and installed four temporary water tanks inside the former reservoir footprint. This work was Phase I of a multiple year capital improvement project that will eventually result in the construction of two larger permanent water tanks, removal of the old reservoir berms, landscaping and fencing, and conversion of a portion of the site to public accessible space.

Design of these new facilities is now close to completion and the Water Department would like to receive comments from the public about the plans. A public meeting is scheduled for:

Bay Street Reservoir Replacement Project – Neighborhood Meeting
Tuesday, May 4, 2010, 6:00 P.M.
Police Station Community Room
155 Center Street, Santa Cruz

We encourage you to attend to learn about the plans for this new facility in your neighborhood, ask questions, and provide your comments. Environmental documents in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970 (CEQA) are also being prepared and should be ready for public review in early summer.
