Santa Cruz Police National Night Out Movie & Family Event Postponement Announcement Due to Concern Regarding Coronavirus Delta Variant
SANTA CRUZ – As we are sure you are already aware, the spread of the coronavirus Delta variant means that it is now recommended to avoid large gatherings. For that reason, the Santa Cruz Police Department made the difficult decision to postpone the FREE Movie Night & Family Fun Event previously scheduled for August 3, 2021. While we know this is disappointing, we hope you understand the steps we must take to help keep our community, partners, and staff safe.
The anticipated turnout to the event was well over 600 people. Officers are very grateful for the terrific community support in joining us for National Night Out.
Postponing the FREE Movie Night & Family Fun Event on August 3 is the only responsible course action at this time. Rescheduling this popular event enables us to provide the experience that our community, partners, and employees expect and deserve in a safe environment.
What happens next? We will reschedule for Fall 2021.
We look forward to hosting the Best Movie Night Ever with kid's activities, games, crafts, K9 demos, popcorn, and more!
Until then, thank you for your continued support; stay safe and healthy!
