An attempt to set a new world record for a paddle out and "Surf Ring". Participants should be 12 years+, experienced in ocean waters, and bring a surf board.

Each participant will be asked to make a donation of $10 or more, which will go to one of six local charities of their choice. The charities include: Ride a Wave, the Santa Cruz chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, The Core, the Kenneth Wyman Memorial Scholarship, FleaHab and Kids on Broadway.

To be a part of this historic event, sign up at Cowell Beach at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, or pre-register by mailing a check with the name of the charity of which you would like to donate to: World Record Surfer Ring, 700 Frederick St., Suite 200, Santa Cruz, 95062.
