Scoping Meeting for Environmental Impact Report on the Downtown Plan Expansion

  • Introduction: The City will solicit comments from public agencies and community members regarding potential issues that may require review as part of the EIR that will be prepared for the expansion of the boundaries of the Downtown Plan into the neighborhood south of Laurel Avenue.

The City will hold a scoping meeting to hear from public agencies and community members as we begin work on the EIR for the project to expand the boundary of the Downtown Plan, and consider the options for a new arena for the Santa Cruz Warriors. The project will include the potential for significant housing development, additional retail and restaurant space, new civic spaces, and other streetscape and circulation improvements. A complete project description will be available on the project website at www.cityofsantacruz.com/downtown when the Notice of Preparation is released, no later than Friday, September 16, 2022.
