Fiscal Year 2014/2015 Soquel Avenue Water Main Replacement 2013-005
This year’s Water Main Replacement Project involves replacement of almost one mile of water mains and all connecting services and cross street water mains in two areas:
- Soquel Avenue between the San Lorenzo River Bridge to Ocean Street.
- Soquel Avenue between South Branciforte Avenue to Morrissey Boulevard.
Work on this project is expected to occur between May and September 2015. Impact on area residents and vehicular access will be minimized as much as possible through advanced signage, door hangers, and other notification measures. While every attempt will be made to keep the construction disturbance to a minimum, you may experience traffic delays, restricted street parking, and increased noise during regular business hours, as well as short scheduled periods of no water service. The contractor and the City will make every effort to give you 24 hours advance notice of any non-emergency water shut down that may be necessitated by the construction.
The Santa Cruz Water Department will host a Neighborhood Meeting on June 3rd, 2015 from 7:30pm to 8:30pm in the Police Department Community Room at 155 Center Street, Santa Cruz, CA. This meeting will provide information on the construction schedule, impacts to residents and businesses, and answer questions.
