The City of Santa Cruz Water Department and the Coastal Watershed Council invite the public to celebrate National Lakes Appreciation Month by joining The Great American Secchi Dip-In at Loch Lomond Reservoir on Saturday, July 25. Reservations are required and space is limited.
The Secchi Disk is a simple diagnostic tool used to measure lake clarity and transparency. During National Lakes Appreciation Month Secchi Dip-In events take place all across the United States and Canada. Participants in the Loch Lomond Secchi Dip-In will have the chance to use the Secchi Disk in addition to learning about the City’s watershed and taking a short guided hike through the woods. The event will be held from 10:00AM – 12:00PM. A longer hike will also be available from 12:00PM – 2:00PM for those who are interested.
For more information or to reserve a space, please RSVP by email to geidam@cityofsantacruz.com or call 831.335.7424 or visit the Coastal Watershed Council’s website at coastal-watershed.org
