O'lo Hui Nahu:
Surf Demo,
Paddle-Out and Luau

Sunday, July 19th
8AM-4PM | FREE
*Food, drink and Luau raffle is $10

17-foot, 200 pounds of redwood surfboard replicas. You’d be crazy to try and surf on them. But we’re going to try.

See it for yourself during a Surf Demo to kick off a day of activities for the 130th anniversary (to the day!) of the Three Princes’ epic ride. Daring local surfers will try their best at surfing hand-crafted, replica redwood Hawaiian style boards created by master-shaper Bob Pearson of Arrow Surf Shop. He’s crafted 17ft, 200-lb olos (the types the Princes used), a 14 ft Alaia, a 9ft Hot Curl and an 8ft Paipo all from old growth redwood.

This will be followed by an 11AM Paddle Out at Main Beach led by local historians Geoffrey Dunn and Kim Stoner. Following the paddle out, join us back at the MAH for a Luau in Abbott Square and an invitation to view the actual boards the Princes surfed all those years ago. The Luau will feature music, performances and an invitation to view the actual boards the Princes surfed all those years ago.

Admission to the Luau in Abbott Square is Free. Admission to Luau Patio with Complimentary Food (provided by Hula's) and Beer (provided by Discretion) and invitation to view the Princes of Surf Boards is $10. Buy your tickets here.

Here’s a breakdown of what’s happening:

Paddle-Out at Main Beach - 11am-12pm
