Santa Cruz is known for its temperate climate, stunning coastline and redwood forests, and this brand-new race provides ample opportunities to enjoy it all.
The race starts on the Santa Cruz Main Beach, east of the wharf. A 1.2 mile ocean swim will kick off the day. Athletes will begin the bike course at Depot Park as they head out on a rolling course providing numerous beautiful vistas along the California coastline. The scenic out-and-back run course traverses the Natural Bridges State Park and Wilder Ranch State Park, with the turnaround on the rugged ocean bluffs. Athletes will return to finish on the beach in front of the main stage at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
