Is your Project within the City Limits?
Your project address must be within the City of Santa Cruz's jurisdiction. If you are uncertain if your address is within the City or whether it is part of the County, please see our Zoning Map and search for your address before completing the online application.
Submitting Revisions
If you have revisions to submit, please connect with your assigned planner to submit revisions. Revisions should first be coordinated with the planner before electronic revisions are provided.
Online Planning Application Inquiry
Complete the inquiry form below if you want to apply for a new planning application. Once received, a planner will be in contact with steps and documents for official submittal. Standard list of required application materials.
All new development applications proposing multifamily housing (anything from a duplex to a mixed-use multifamily development) are now subject to the Objective Design Standards for Multifamily Housing. Your planner can work with you to determine the standards that are applicable to your project.
This inquiry form does not constitute an official submittal.
**Please do not use this form to submit inquiries for Building Permit applications or SB9 Applications:**
- Building Permit inquiries and SB9 Housing Development Project inquiries must be submitted to the Building Department (permits@santacruzca.gov). For more information, visit the Building and Safety Division.
- SB9 Land Division inquiries must be submitted to Curtis Busenhart in the Public Works Department (cbusenhart@santacruzca.gov).
Once a planner has reached out to you and given you instructions with an official land use application, you will be instructed to upload documents and/or pay through our online portal at www.mycityofsantacruz.com.
(Please note: Payment will be available following the uploading of documents, and only after the Planning Staff has authorized to do so through the portal above)
