Community Services Unit

The Santa Cruz Police Department recognizes the vital importance of building relationships throughout our community and providing exemplary service.  The primary goal of the Community Services Unit is to provide responsive professional service while collaborating with other city departments and the community to create problem-solving strategies.

SCPD officers are an integral part of our neighborhoods and, in partnership with the community, we look to tackle the underlying causes of crime and safety issues and put sustainable solutions in place.

With the understanding that no two neighborhoods are the same, the Community Services Unit is designed to address the distinct needs of each community throughout the city.  The personnel in this unit bring together community engagement, crime data, and police services to develop problem solving solutions.

West Side Communities, Downtown and Central Communities, Beach Communities and Eastside Communities.
