The City urges citizens to obtain sandbags in advance of predicted storms.
Beginning on Friday, Nov. 3, free sandbags are available to all those City of Santa Cruz citizens in need* as follows:
1) Empty sandbags may be picked up at:
Fire Administration Office
230 Walnut St.
Monday - Thursday
8 am - 12 pm, 1- 4 pm
Parks & Rec Administration
323 Church Street
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm; 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
London Nelson Community Center
301 Center St.
Monday-Wednesday: 9:30 am - 8:00 pm
Thursday: 9:30 am - 9:00 pm
Friday: 9:30 am - 8:00 pm
Saturday: 9:30 am - 7:00 pm
2) Citizens may then fill the bags with free sand located at:
Harvey West Park (at the entrance to the Parks Yard)
326 Evergreen St. (This is self-serve and open 7 days a week.)
Behind Fire Station 2 in the public parking lot.
1103 Soquel Ave.
Please be prepared with sandbag and shovel to fill the bags with sand.

* Limits of Service
In order to ensure that materials will be available to all those City of Santa Cruz citizens in need, there will be a limit of ten (10) sandbags per household, organization or business.
