Overview

  • The project will replace a crucial sewer pipe from KP Arena to Neary Lagoon, the largest influent pipe directing sewage to the City’s Wastewater Treatment Facility.
  • We're using a trenchless method called "cured-in-place" pipe rehabilitation to minimize excavation and reduce impacts on our community.
  • As this pipe nears the end of its operational life, replacement is essential to maintain efficient wastewater treatment.
  • This project must take place in the summer because we need the lowest sewer flows to conduct the work.

Schedule and Cost

  • Construction will begin in early July and is estimated to continue through mid-September of this year.
  • The $4.7 million project is part of the Public Works Department’s Capital Improvement Program.

Project Location

Construction will take place in the locations identified on the map below.

The community should anticipate the following in construction areas:

  • Noise and dust from construction activities from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Minimal noise from 24-hour pumps. Residents and businesses near the 24-hour pumps will be notified and should only hear a low hum if windows and doors are closed.
  • Occasional traffic delays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Reduced street parking near construction areas.
  • Reduced parking at Mike Fox Skate Park.

We do not expect this project to interrupt water or sewer services.
