A formal application was submitted for the project on September 21, 2022. Nonresidential Demolition Authorization Permit, Special Use Permit, Design Permit, Lot-Line Adjustment, Sign Permit, and Heritage Tree Removal Permit to demolish the existing surface parking lot and structures and construct the Library/Affordable Housing Project encompassing a new, approximately 38,000 sq. ft. City library; parking structure with up to 350 parking spaces; 100% affordable housing component comprising approximately 124 residential units; approximately 10,000 sq. ft. commercial tenant space; 1,800-2,500 sq. ft. commercial childcare facility; new roof deck(s); and associated site improvements (anticipated environmental determination: statutory, categorical exemptions).

Community Meetings/Webinars and Public Hearings

A community meeting is required pursuant to the City’s Community Outreach Policy for Planning Projects, and the feedback provided may contribute to alterations in the project design and additional project entitlements. Meeting information will show here once available.

3.3.2023  A City Council  Hearing is scheduled  for Tuesday March 14th  to review the permits associated with the Project Design, more information will be posted along with the Hearing time and Agenda Packet which can be found at the City Council webpage here.

2.23.2023 The  Planning Commission held a Public Hearing to review the permits associated with the Project Design and unanimously recommended that City Council approve the project permits. View the Planning Commission Hearing here and Agenda Packet .
